Jin Youn (Broughton) is a Registered Clinical Counselor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counselors (BCACC), providing services for clients with trauma.
Jin has been providing clinical counselling since 2006, providing individual, couple, and group counselling for clients aging in range from the teens to the elderly. During these years, Jin has been providing counselling on mental health and addiction issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, mild brain injury, child and youth mental health, anger management, crime victim assistance, relationship and family issues, parenting, and so on.
Jin’s foundation of therapy is a biopsychosocial-spiritual model, viewing a human being as a whole person with four aspects: physical, psychological, social, and spiritual. Therefore, Jin is able to see the whole picture on how a brain injury, physical illness, physical trauma, or substance abuse affects human emotions, cognition, behavior, and spirituality. Jin's approach utilizes EMDR, Somatic Experiencing Therapy, Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy (CRT), Rogerian Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy in order to help her clients towards healing from trauma, problem solving, and having a new hope for a new life.
Jin has a Master’s Degree in Counselling from Trinity Western University in BC, specializing in mental health issues, PTSD, counple/family/individual counseling.
