John graduated from the Sutherland-Chan program in 2004. During his post-graduate training, he took many courses with the Barral Institute for treating organ and nervous system issues. Over the years, John has treated a wide variety of clients and has seen everyone from athletes to pre-natal clients.
In addition to Swedish and sports methods, John applies fascial and neural techniques to treat conditions such as headaches, concussions, digestive issues and pelvic pain. By observing the body's tissue as system of connected chains, he finds that it is often easier to discover weak links that are the source of pain.
Because of his experience in the field, John strongly believes that the ideal therapeutic method is to make sure all the segments of the connective tissue are properly connected, moving well and bear the loads required of them. A person is only as strong as their weakest link, and finding the root cause in these systems can bring many long term benefits: By addressing all the relevant tissue a person can perform, move and live better.

Visceral Manipulation is a gentle manual therapy focused on the internal organs of the body, from the digestive, pelvic and respiratory organs. Unlike traditional therapies that target specific areas of pain or dysfunction, Visceral Manipulation evaluates the entire body to identify the root of the issue. Using delicate techniques, therapists detect altered motion within the organs and restrictive patterns throughout the body. By applying these techniques, visceral manipulation therapy helps release restrictions and unhealthy compensations, enabling the body to restore itself. Benefits of Visceral Manipulation include addressing pelvic issues like endometriosis and sciatica, digestive problems such as IBS and heartburn, neuromotor problems such as migraines, whiplash and concussions, and respiratory issues post sickness. Also, by clearing restrictive patterns and promoting movement, visceral work may act as a useful support for women who are undergoing the fertility process.
