Hi, My name is Joseph. I'm a registered physiotherapist with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from York University and a Masters of Science of Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto.
I became a physiotherapist because I loved two things: sports and helping people. 10 years into my career nothing has changed. My patients and the relationships I've formed with them remain the best part of this job. Likewise, I remain very passionate about sports and fitness. Growing up I played a lot of hockey, baseball and soccer. Weight training is something I also came to love and appreciate after seeing its effect on my own sports performance.
Over the last ten years I've developed a treatment skill-set that allows me to get to the root of my patient's problems. I use a combination of manual therapy, electroacupuncture and exercise to get my patients better. As part of my assessment approach I ask a lot of questions. What forces has your body been under? How often and for how long? What past injuries have you had? What are you doing or not doing that may have contributed to your problem?
The answers to these questions help me shape a story about your injury or pain problem. WHY do you have pain? That is the key question for us to answer. When we can answer that question, what we need to do for treatment becomes much more clear. I work with my patients to put this puzzle together.
When I'm not treating or playing sports you'll find me hanging out at home with my family. I'm also a big fan of the outdoors. In the summers my free time is spent getting in a round of golf or exploring a new lake for some fishing. At the centre of our life is my son who is starting to explore sports of all kinds. Whether it be golf, soccer, hockey, skiing, or just playing mini sticks in the living room, watching him try new sports has reignited my passion for them. I look forward to helping you move, feel, and perform better.

Gunn IMS is a system of assessing and treating neuropathic pain, developed by Dr. Chan Gunn and based on Western medical principles. Dr. Gunn was awarded the Order of Canada in 2002 for his pioneering work. Gunn IMS can only be performed by a practitioner who has been trained by Dr. Gunn or his associates to properly assess a patient for the signs and symptoms of neuropathic pain. One of the key characteristics of neuropathic pain is the presence of tight, ropey bands in affected muscles. These muscles are “dry needled” to produce three therapeutic effects: A stretch reflex and contraction to help the muscle ultimately relax. Localized microtrauma and inflammation to stimulate the healing process. A resetting effect on the nervous system. A complete Gunn IMS treatment goes beyond simply needling tight muscles. The practitioner must also address the muscles that can compress the nerve roots supplying the affected areas and assess the body globally to treat the underlying sources of neuropathic pain. Please note: At our clinic, Gunn IMS is provided as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. It is not available to schedule as a stand-alone appointment.
Our Golf Swing Analysis is a key component of the TPI Assessment. During this session, a certified golf pro evaluates your swing mechanics, setup, posture, and movement patterns to identify inefficiencies or compensations that may be affecting performance or contributing to pain. This analysis works alongside your physical screen to connect how your body moves with how you swing — allowing us to create a targeted plan that improves both performance and durability on the course.
**Strength and Conditioning** Strength and conditioning in physiotherapy involves the use of targeted, progressive exercise to improve strength, endurance, mobility, and overall physical function. Following a detailed assessment, a physiotherapist develops an individualized program designed to support injury recovery, enhance movement quality, and help patients safely return to daily activities, work, or sport. Exercises may include resistance training, stability work, mobility exercises, and functional movement training tailored to each patient’s goals and abilities.
