**Physiotherapist, Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science, Certified Orthopedic Manual and Manipulative Therapist, Certified Intramuscular Stimulation practitioner.**
Julie co-founded Physiostation & Sports Injury Clinic in 2014 in order to incorporate a multifaceted approach to orthopaedic manual physiotherapy, drawing on her own background as a competitive athlete.
Julie has over 20 years of experience as a senior physiotherapist working with professional and recreational athletes, as well as professional dancers and performers. She graduated with high distinction with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise and Sports Science from The Pennsylvania State University, where she received a scholarship to play NCAA Division 1 softball. She was twice named an academic All-American during her time at Penn State.
Julie graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiotherapy from Queen’s University. She continued pursuing advanced certifications in acupuncture, intramuscular stimulation (IMS), and has obtained the highest advanced certification in Manual and Manipulative Therapy (COMT) from the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapists. She is currently pursuing certification from the Titleist Performance Institute to better assist golfers seeking specialized care.
Julie’s interest in orthopaedics and biomechanics began with her career as a competitive athlete. She gained valuable experience as a physiotherapist while working in New York at Westside Dance Physical Therapy, where she had the privilege of working on site and touring with the New York City Ballet. Julie also worked on site at Julliard, the School of American Ballet and has treated many professional dancers and athletes. She has developed and instructed classes for professional athletes, including back care and foot and ankle specialty classes.
Julie’s current sports endeavors include skiing, golf and mountain biking. Her patients come from all backgrounds, including athletes recovering from a wide range of acute injuries and surgeries as well as individuals addressing chronic ailments.
