Julie is an experienced physiotherapist with specialized training in sport physiotherapy. Julie has advanced training, education, and certifications in Sport Physiotherapy, along with over 13 years of experience working with clients and athletes at a provincial, national, and international level. Julie has advanced education in manual therapy techniques and concussion assessment and management. Julie also has a long history as a youth coach, trainer, and mentor.
Julie likes to make a positive impact in her clients’ everyday lives by helping them do the things that are meaningful to them, such as getting on the floor to play with their children, competing in high performance sport, or simply moving without pain. Julie takes an individual approach to treatment and takes time to get to know you so she can understand and plan for your specific needs and goals. Education and movement/exercise are the largest components of her treatment plans.
Julie is also passionate about health and sport equity, and has a history of volunteering with non-profit and professional organizations. Currently, Julie is volunteering as Manager of Medical Venues, with the North American Indigenous Games 2023, and as the Member Development Coordinator with Sport Physiotherapy Canada – Nova Scotia Section.
Outside of work, Julie enjoys spending time living a healthy, holistic, and active lifestyle with her two children, Sawyer and Eloise. She enjoys swimming, reading, walking/hiking, tennis, biking, and creating/crafting.
