#Kaitlin Phillips, Physiotherapist
Kaitlin Phillips completed her Masters of Physical Therapy at Western University in London, Ontario in 2017. She received a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Cumberland University in Tennessee while on soccer scholarship. Throughout her soccer career, Kaitlin experienced several minor injuries and a significant one—a torn ACL. Experiencing and seeing these injuries first hand has given her a greater understanding of the physical and mental aspects associated with the inability to participate in sport or daily activities.
Kaitlin Phillips completed her *ACSM personal training certification*; therefore, her approach to treatment begins with looking at the entire body as a whole and focusing on improving movement patterns. While doing this, Kaitlin is not only able to assist with rehabilitation of injuries, but also on prevention of future injuries.
Kaitlin is very passionate about the musculoskeletal system; she has taken manual therapy courses including her **Soft Tissue Release, Mulligan – Mobilization with Movement, and has her Orthopedic Level 1 Certification**. She has also completed **Evidence in Motion Dry Needling** and has been certified in **Complete Concussion Management**. Having worked with athletes at the high school, NCAA/USports, and professional level, Kaitlin has a broad understanding of what it takes for individuals to perform at their most optimal level. Though Kaitlin loves the diversity of treating all injuries, she has a strong interest when it comes to knee injuries in particular, including both the prevention and treatment of ACL injuries. Additionally, Kaitlin thoroughly enjoys sport coverage, as she is in her 5th season as the lead physiotherapist for the Etobicoke Junior Dolphins hockey team.
In Kaitlin’s free time, she enjoys running, strength training, playing soccer, watching a wide range of sports (NFL, WNBA/NBA, PWHL/NHL, soccer, etc), trying new cafes and restaurants, and spending time with friends and family. Kaitlin is originally from Edmonton, Alberta; therefore, if you have any tips for exploring Toronto, she would be happy to hear them!

The physiotherapist will assess the issue by testing the area of concern. Once they have established the diagnosis and the best course of action, they will commence treatment which can include: manual therapy, acupuncture, exercises, and other forms of care.
