Karen is a Registered Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in the human services field. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work and is committed to ongoing professional development and clinical excellence.
Karen specializes in trauma therapy as an Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) therapist and is a member of the International Society of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (IS-ART). She is also trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). In addition, she is certified in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and has completed further training in Anger Management, Narcissistic Abuse, and Complex Grief and Loss by Suicide.

Karen brings valuable experience from her work in child protection services, where she supported families facing challenges related to addiction, poverty, mental health concerns, and trauma. She also has experience navigating family law matters and understands the frustration individuals often experience when confronted with service gaps and complex systems.
Using an eclectic, trauma-informed approach, Karen meets clients where they are, offering a supportive, solution-focused environment. She is highly organized and enjoys helping clients break down overwhelming challenges into manageable steps. Karen has a particular passion for working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, couples, intrapersonal relationships, issues related to narcissism, and trauma.
Karen believes healing is not one-size-fits-all. Each person is on a unique journey. While she brings professional expertise to the therapeutic space, she also deeply values learning from the insights and resilience her clients bring.
Karen knows what it feels like to hit her rock bottom and not know where to find the strength to stand back up. Her own healing journey has deepened her compassion and empathy for those navigating life’s inevitable hardships. She will walk alongside you on your healing path, as she knows it’s a rocky terrain and believes no one should ever walk it alone.
And no worries - she does not have the “Karen” haircut and promises never to ask to speak to your manager!
