Karen is a Registered Massage Therapist, licensed with the College of Massage Therapists of BC. She received her training from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in their 3000hr program. Karen has taken additional in depth anatomy courses in order to further understand the complexities of the body and its systems.
Through her practice, she uses various means of assessment, as well as her palpation skills, in order to find and treat the root cause of the pain or dysfunction. Her clinical experience includes treatment of sports related injuries, postural dysfunction, muscle tension, headaches, post MVA injuries and nerve impingements. Karen uses various massage techniques including myofascial release, deep tissue massage, trigger point release, and joint mobilizations in order to address the individual needs of her clients.
Karen understands the importance of injury prevention as well as the desire to return to activity as quickly and safely as possible after an injury. As someone who enjoys being active she likes to bring this knowledge and experience into her practice with the athletes she works with as well as those suffering from pain and discomfort on a daily basis.
