Karen has been practicing massage therapy for 14 years. She graduated from the 2200-hour
program at MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy and is registered with the Natural Health
Practitioners of Canada (NHPC). A deep interest in anatomy and physiology first drew her to this
career, and that curiosity continues to shape her practice today.
Karen is a certified CranioSacral Therapy practitioner, an area she finds especially rewarding for
its gentle, hands-on approach to easing tension and supporting the body's natural healing
rhythms. She is also passionate about her craft more broadly and has pursued advanced training
in Deep Tissue Massage, Fascial Decompression (Myofascial Release), and Dynamic Cupping,
and is previously certified in TMJ Therapy. As she continues her journey as a massage therapist,
she looks forward to deepening her CranioSacral practice and expanding her education to better
serve her clients.

RAPID is an evidence-based active, therapeutic massage technique that addresses the central nervous system's role in alleviating tension and restrictions within the body. It is a type of massage that treats aches and pains by focusing on the nerves rather than muscle tissue. The technique is lotion-free, so the client remains clothed, and the treatment is movement-based to encourage the client to perform active motion. The purpose of RAPID is to reset nerve hypersensitivity back to neutral. The high intensity of the technique along with the client’s active movements allows the body to downgrade pain and reprogram sensory information processed by the brain. This then causes an immediate change in how the body responds to what it’s now feeling. It’s for this reason that treatment lengths are shorter and the results last longer. Movement and return to activity are highly encouraged after a RAPID treatment to reinforce the changes created by the body. RAPID doesn’t physically alter tissues, it’s just changing the information from the nerves, so it’s able to be used for many conditions, and contributes greatly to faster healing.
