**Meet Katey!**
Katey is a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Central Florida and went on to earn her Master of Clinical Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Western University.
She is passionate about supporting children of all ages and abilities through play-based therapy, with a focus on articulation, motor speech, language, and AAC. Katey is committed to ongoing learning and regularly seeks out new knowledge to develop individualized, effective strategies for the children she works with.
She has completed workshops in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets), Digging Deeper: An Evidence-Based Motor Speech Treatment Protocol, and Natural Language Acquisition (NLA). She has also completed advanced independent coursework focused on parent training and strategies for late talkers.
Outside of work, Katey enjoys playing volleyball, reading, and spending time with her family dogs.

Has your child been recommended by an SLP to see our CDA? Want to book in for CDA sessions but want to meet face to face first? Book a free virtual consultation with one of our CDAs. In this session you will have the opportunity to: 1) Meet with a Hive CDA 2) Ask questions you may have about your child’s development 3) Familiarize yourself with our services 4) Get some ideas for things to work on at home!
This comprehensive 60-min assessment with our Speech-Language Pathologists is the best place to start if your kiddo is having any speech, language or communication concerns. Common concerns include speech sounds, fluency/stuttering, articulation and the motor aspects of speech. It can also include concerns with language and communication - both use and understanding - as well as social communication. Expect a thorough assessment and treatment to occur on this day, based on play and fun! We always encourage open dialogue with your therapist, who will be sharing their findings and observations as they go.
These are ongoing and in-person sessions with one of our amazing Speech Language Pathologists. Each session is a "clinical hour," with 50 mins being direct treatment time, and 10 mins reserved for answering your questions, wrapping up, and admin. During each session, your therapist will be providing highly skilled and personalized therapy, all while having fun with your kiddo! At The Hive, parental input and participation is both encouraged and welcomed. Note: If this is your first time booking, please book an Initial Speech Therapy Assessment.
These are ongoing and in-person SLP sessions with one of our amazing Speech Language Pathologists. During each 60 min session, your therapists will be providing highly skilled and personalized therapy, all while having fun with your kiddo! If this is your first time booking, please book an Initial Assessment visit.
These sessions are a great way to continue with your therapy goals, while in the safety and comfort of your own home! Virtual Speech Therapy is just like a regular SLP session, except our expert therapists will engage your kiddo via the screen, have online materials ready to go, and will make use of what you have at home. They always ensure you're involved along the way!
