Kelly Fitzpatrick, MSW, RSW (She/Her)
Kelly Fitzpatrick is a Registered Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience supporting children, youth, adults, and families across diverse settings. She holds both a Bachelor and Master of Social Work from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Kelly has extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma and provides therapy in the areas of trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, emotional awareness and regulation, parenting, adoption and life transitions.
Kelly believes that everyone has a story and that navigating life’s challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside individuals as they move toward healing, growth, and their ideal well-being. She understands that reaching out for support can be difficult and strives to create a space where clients feel welcomed, heard, and supported.
Her practice is grounded in a trauma-informed, non-judgmental, client-centred, and strengths-based approach. Kelly places great value on the therapeutic relationship and works collaboratively with clients to foster self-awareness, resilience, hope, and meaningful change towards their wellness goals. She also values creativity and recognizes that each person has unique strengths and ways of expressing themselves, which she incorporates into the therapeutic process whenever possible.
Kelly draws from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). She has pursued additional training in EMDR with a focus on attachment wounds and complex trauma and has completed both Basic and Advanced training in ART. She also integrates Solution-Focused Therapy, polyvagal-informed interventions and mindfulness-based practices.
Committed to ongoing professional development, Kelly is currently pursuing additional training toward her goal of becoming a certified play therapist.
