Dr. Laura MacLean graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University in Atlanta, Georgia in March 2025. Originally from Bedford, Nova Scotia, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics at Acadia University in Wolfville before pursuing her chiropractic education. Laura spent the final six months of her chiropractic program interning at two highly regarded clinics in Atlanta, gaining experience and confidence in patient care.
After graduation, she worked at a personal injury and pain management clinic in Tampa, Florida, until Summer 2025, when she decided it was time to return home to Nova Scotia.
Dr. Laura has always had a deep passion for health, movement, and wellness. A former competitive dancer, she served as the director and captain of Dance Acadia, Acadia’s competitive dance team, during her final two years of undergraduate studies. She is also a certified yoga and dance instructor and is currently completing her personal training certification.
While at Life University, Laura became highly specialized in the Gonstead Chiropractic Technique. She successfully completed the Gonstead Officer Certification, which included a rigorous written exam and ten practical examinations over two days. Following this, she taught new chiropractic students twice weekly, helping them learn the Gonstead method and develop their adjusting skills.
Now back home, Dr. Laura is thrilled to begin her career at Peak Energy and serve the HRM community. She is passionate about the power of chiropractic care to support healing, restore function, and help people feel their absolute best.

This is your first visit. The doctor will take your history, do some testing (which may or may not include X-rays), and determine what type of treatment is right for you. The assessment is a 60 minute appointment.

The doctor will use a Class 4 laser on different areas of your body, depending on your condition and what treatment is required.
