Laura Walker
SaveLaura Walker is a registered counselling therapist candidate with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. She has been a counsellor for 2 years. Laura has had the privilage of working with individuals of all ages, as well as couples, families and groups. Laura considers herself to be a generalist practitioner and has training in a variety of therapies including, Satir Family Therapy, Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Laura is a trauma informed therapist who believes there are many pathways to healing. She currently works with individuals 14+ and couples, collaborating with her clients to achieve goals and to make transformational change. Laura has experience support folks with, anger management, anxiety, coping skills, family conflict, life transitions, relationship issues, self esteem, trauma, and suicide ideation.

After the initial assessment, follow-up counselling sessions can be scheduled, where we will work towards your established goals, through an identified treatment modality. Christie sees patients 18 years and older.

This first appointment will consist of a comprehensive bio-psycho-social-spiritual assessment, identifying presenting concerns and establishing a treatment plan. This appointment typically lasts 1-1.5 hours. Christie sees patients 18 years and older.
First Consultation My initial appointments are 1.5 hours and primarily focus on getting to know each other. We will look at your presenting concerns and determine what approach would best fit your needs.
Follow up appointments My follow up appointments are 1 hour in length and include case conceptualization and treatment. If a less clinical approach is desired, supportive counselling is also provided.
