Leah graduated with a Master's degree in Physiotherapy (2013) and a Bachelor in Kinesiology at Western University (2011). Leah assists on courses with Antony Lo (The Female Athlete) and Teresa Waser (TIIPPSS-FC) to guide other physiotherapists in returning athletes to sport after pregnancy, pelvic symptoms and/or injury. She has advanced training in manual therapy (OrthoDiv Level 1,2,3,4), dry needling (Kinetacore), powerlifting coaching (CAPC), pelvic health related topics such as incontinence (Level 1), pelvic pain (Level 2/3), pessary fittings, pregnancy pain management (Rost) and sexual wellness (Trans-Inclusive🏳️🌈, Trauma-Informed, Kink-Aware: Optimizing Sexual Wellness, Sex Foundations at Guelph Universtity, member of ASSECT). Leah feels passionate about working with people who have lost the ability to move the way they want because of injury/symptoms or people who want to incorporate movement into their life but find they frequently meet barriers and want help making change. This group offers a supportive environment for parents to connect and share experiences while nurturing their little ones' development. The group will be led by an experienced paediatric physiotherapist, through floor play, engaging positions and activities to promote motor skills and cognitive growth of your baby. A variety of educational topics will be covered, such as the art of baby wearing and equipment concerns, and parents will discover the importance of fostering early milestones and preventing common challenges like torticollis. Join us as we embark on this exciting journey of parenthood, growing together, one milestone at a time!
*For babies 6 - 12 months* Where curiosity, movement, and connection thrive! This group offers a dynamic and supportive space for parents and their growing babies to explore the exciting next stage of development. Led by an experienced paediatric physiotherapist, sessions include purposeful floor play, movement-based activities, and guided exploration designed to promote gross motor skills, coordination, and cognitive development. Together, we’ll dive into topics relevant to this age, such as encouraging crawling and standing, managing mobility challenges, appropriate footwear and equipment use, and fostering independence. Parents will gain valuable tools to support their baby’s physical and emotional growth while building community with others on a similar journey. Let’s keep growing, one milestone at a time!
