Libbie has been a part of the health care field for over 23 years. She first started her career as a Registered Practical Nurse in 2002. Shortly after graduating from Algonquin College in Pembroke.
She started working at the Queensway Carleton Hospital here in Ottawa. There she practiced on both a Medical and Surgical Nursing Unit. After a few years she decided to change her career and become a Registered Massage Therapist. She graduating in 2009 from Everest College here in Ottawa and started working as part of the Ability Team.
She continues to educate herself in Advanced Modality Training courses and for this she is able to provide and maintain superior standards of practice for her clients. Libbie enjoys treating all clients with various conditions, but is most interested in treating chronic strain injuries of the head, neck, shoulders, lower back and legs.

Cerebrospinal fluid protects the brain and spinal cord from trauma, it supplies nutrients to nervous system tissue and removes waste products from cerebral metabolism. Craniosacral therapists assess the cerbrospinal fluid flow, cranial sutures and bone movement, fascial restrictions throughout the head, neck, diaphragm and pelvis. Advanced therapists include SomatoEmotional release techniques which addresses the mind body connection and emotional stasis in the tissue. Intuitive techniques like arcing are utilized to map areas of the body with higher energetic concentrations which guide the therapist to a treatment location on the body. This technique is beneficial in the treatment of headaches, concussions, whiplash, low back pain, vertigo, nausea, insomnia, anxiety, and depression. It is also extremely relaxating so any one can benefit from this treatment, which is our lightest touch therapy. Children and youth respond very well to this therapy and it has been beneficial with those who have learning disabilities and/or restlessness, as the key factor in craniosacral therapy is calming the mind and body. Massage Therapy can be very helpful with the changes that expecting mothers can experience during pregnancy. As a pregnancy progresses and the body’s ligaments start to relax, women may experience added strain on their muscles and joints. Pre-natal massage helps alleviate, hip and low back pain, calf cramping, and upper back and neck tension. Moms can also enjoy abdominal massage in their treatment, helping to soothe the baby and relieve gastrointestinal issues. All therapists are trained in pre-natal massage and can accommodate your changing needs through your pregnancy. You can choose to lay on your side with a body pillow, or on your stomach with the pre-natal pillow.
