Lily is passionate about assisting her clients in gaining and regaining their function. She obtained her Master's of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. She has diverse experience within the healthcare field, including in diagnostic laboratory, pharmacy, medical first aid, and with other interdisciplinary teams allowing Lily to approach each patient’s condition holistically. Lily is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
Suffering chronic pelvic conditions at a young age, she was inspired by her own pelvic health physiotherapist, and ultimately changed her career path from a laboratory technologist to a physiotherapist. She had the opportunity to work at one of the largest urogynecology multidisciplinary care teams in Canada. Along with the incontinence nurse adviser, dietician, chronic pain specialist, and urogynecologists, she focuses on assisting patients struggling with urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pre/post urogynecology surgery rehab, chronic pelvic pain, prepartum prepping, and postpartum recovery. Lily adopts a biopsychosocial approach and trauma informed care into her practice.
Apart from pelvic health, Lily also challenged herself to work within inpatient and outpatient settings at different hospitals in Alberta. She has practiced in the department of Orthopedic Surgery, Cardiac, Pulmonary, Neurology, Paediatric, Transplant, Hand/Plastic, Cancer rehabilitation, and Rheumatology/bone health Rehabilitation. She has special interest in treating musculoskeletal/orthopedic injuries, cancer rehabilitation, rheumatological rehabilitation, chronic pain, and of course, pelvic health conditions.
Lily has a naturally curious mind, leading her to have a strong passion in pursuing further postgraduate education in physiotherapy to improve her knowledge and provide better care to her clients. She completed Level 2 Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Program with Orthopaedic Division; Level 1-3 with Pelvic Health Solution focusing on pelvic conditions and chronic pelvic pain; as well as Modern Dry Needling (AN-ISM).
During her spare time, you will find Lily jogging or longboarding around the river valley, bouldering in climbing centers, gigging around the city with her band, and munching on different authentic food.
