Linda is a clinician-scientist with extensive knowledge in knee injuries and rehabilitation. She is well known internationally for both her clinical and research knowledge. She is currently completing a post-doctorate fellowship with UBC focusing on using digital health technology to improve the health system for people with musculoskeletal pain.
She completed her PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of British Columbia with a research focus on the impact of social support on recovery following a traumatic knee injury (e.g., ACL injury). With her thesis work, she also worked to develop an innovative program looking at how to delay and/or prevent knee osteoarthritis and physical inactivity. She is a clinical instructor in the Master of Physical Therapy Program at UBC.
Linda has more than 14 years of clinical experience as a physiotherapist and has worked closely with sport medicine physicians and knee surgeons at her time at the Glen Sather Sports Medicine Clinic in Edmonton, Alberta. She treats a wide range of injuries, but has extensive experience in diagnosing and managing knee injuries, particularly ACL injuries. Linda’s treatment approach is strongly rooted in 1) exercise 2) evidence/research, and 3) empowering and educating patients. She is an avid climber and enjoys ice hockey and weight lifting.
