Lisa Markham, RMT, BSW/RSW, MClSc is a member of the Haas Physical Therapy team, offering both Chronic Pain Counselling and Mental Health Counselling. Her professional background includes working as a Medical Social Worker and Registered Massage Therapist, where she developed extensive experience supporting individuals living with persistent pain, emotional distress, and complex health challenges.
Driven to deepen her understanding of pain and the mind–body connection, Lisa completed a Master of Clinical Science in Interprofessional Pain Management. She is trained in Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed approaches, allowing her to support clients experiencing chronic pain as well as a wide range of mental health concerns.
Lisa provides one-on-one counselling for individuals navigating chronic pain, anxiety, depression, grief, emotional regulation challenges, stress, and difficulties with coping skills. Sessions are highly individualized and may include chronic pain education, mindfulness-based strategies, identifying and reframing unhelpful thought patterns, and strengthening the mind–body connection. Her approach emphasizes practical, evidence-based tools that clients can apply both in and outside of sessions.
Through a safe, confidential, and supportive environment, Lisa works collaboratively with clients to build resilience, increase self-awareness, and develop effective strategies to improve both mental health and overall quality of life. Her goal is to help individuals feel more confident, supported, and equipped to move forward — whether managing persistent pain, mental health challenges, or both.

These sessions are not public classes but rather private group counselling opportunities designed for families, co-workers, friends, or other small groups who wish to participate together. This approach allows for deeper connection, shared understanding, and meaningful progress within a trusted group dynamic. Sessions aim to build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and foster healthy coping strategies in a safe, supportive environment.
