Lori Wareham Mulrooney is a Registered Clinical Social Worker with over 24 years of practice in Newfoundland and Labrador. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies, a Bachelor of Social Work, and a Master of Social Work. Lori is registered with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers and is a Certified Play Therapy Supervisor (CPT S) through the Canadian Association for Play Therapy (CAPT).

Lori is an EMDR trained therapist with a specialization in parent–child attachment and the integration of EMDR and Play Therapy with children and adolescents. Her clinical work is grounded in trauma informed, attachment aware, and developmentally responsive practice, with a strong emphasis on safety, regulation, and relational healing.
In addition to her core training, Lori has obtained specialized education in:
• Trust Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI) through the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development
• AutPlay Therapy® (Certified Provider)
• Self Reg® (Champion) through The MEHRIT Centre
• Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.)
Lori has dedicated her career to working with children, adolescents, and families who have experienced adversity, including trauma, loss, disruption, and relational stress. Her practice reflects a deep respect for the resilience of individuals and families, and a belief in the importance of meeting people with compassion, curiosity, and clinical skill.
As a Certified Play Therapy Supervisor (CPT S), Lori also provides clinical supervision to play therapists and play based clinicians. Her supervision practice aligns with CAPT supervision standards and is informed by the ethical principles and professional responsibilities of social work practice in Newfoundland and Labrador. Supervision is collaborative, reflective, and grounded in a commitment to ethical practice, professional development, and client safety.

This is a phone appointment with our Intake Coordinator to initiate your referral. During this call, we will briefly discuss your concerns and goals, whether for yourself or for someone you are booking on behalf of, such as a child or family member, to ensure we match you with a clinician whose skills and experience best suit their needs.
