Lorissa is a Pilates teacher, GYROTONIC® trainer and Osteopathic Manual Therapist based in South Calgary. She was first introduced to Pilates while in the Modern Dance program at Grant MacEwan College. She received her Classical Pilates certifications from the Dianne Miller Pilates Center in Vancouver and Embody Pilates in Canmore and has been teaching since 2001. Her passion for movement led her to New York and Miami to study Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis – she is currently is a Pre-Trainer offering teacher trainings for the method.
With Classical Pilates as the foundation, she draws on her knowledge and experience of many modalities to create tailored classes and programs for her clients. She is a certified Pre and Postnatal specialist who loves working with new moms, pre-professional dancers and seniors. She is a kind, generous teacher who believes that “Every moment of our life can be the beginning of great things” (Joseph Pilates, Return to Life)
Lorissa’s interest in how the human body moves led her to beginning her Osteopathic school studies in 2021. In April 2025 she graduated with Highest Honours and is looking forward to integrating Osteopathic concepts with Pilates.

This 1x per week, 4-week postpartum Osteopathy Pilates series is designed to help you return to movement after birth in a supported, small-group environment. Each 60-minute session combines Pilates-based exercise with osteopathy focused on postpartum recovery. Topics include breathing and core coordination, rebuilding strength after pregnancy, and movement strategies that support your body as you gradually return to activity. This program is designed to build from week to week, giving participants exercises and strategies they can continue using throughout postpartum and beyond. Groups are intentionally small (maximum 3 participants) to allow for individualized guidance and modifications. Babies are welcome to attend if they are less than one year of age. Participants are also welcome to create their own trio and attend the program with friends!
