Marlon graduated from the Sutherland Chan Institute in 2015. Marlon felt drawn to helping people heal, which led him to develop his skills and knowledge in massage therapy. He also loved the idea of a career which promotes independence and autonomy and practicing massage at Whitby Massage Therapy & Wellness has been a great place for Marlon to foster those values.
Marlon’s approach to treatment is versatile and adaptable to his patient’s needs, whether that’s relaxation, sports-related, deep tissue, etc. He believes that massage should never be painful, but a perfect mix of some discomfort and feeling very relaxed. His goal is always for his patients to leave their treatments feeling better than when they arrived. Marlon works with patients of all ages, from infants (0-3) to seniors. He incorporates several different modalities into his practice, such as: trigger point therapy, myofascial release, cupping therapy (stationary and with movement), pre-post-natal, passive stretching, and Indie head massage.
When he is not working, Marlon loves to cook (and eat) and sleep!

Massage cupping is the combination of massage movements and the use of a suction device to create a negative pressure on the skin and underlying tissues. A cup or cups are positioned at the area to be treated and a negative pressure vacuum is created within the cup to draw the skin and underlying tissues upwards into the cup. The produced vacuum creates a suction effect that increases blood and lymphatic circulation locally and systemically, relaxes muscle and fascial tissue. The lymphatic system is a network throughout the body that helps maintain fluid balance, supports immune function, and moves excess fluid back into circulation. Since it doesn’t have its own pump, it relies on movement and external stimulation to keep fluid flowing. Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage uses structured, rhythmic techniques with a more dynamic pace than traditional lymphatic drainage. These techniques follow the body’s natural pathways to support the movement of lymphatic fluid, particularly in areas where fluid may collect. This treatment is designed to support normal lymphatic function and may help reduce swelling (edema) and the sensation of fluid buildup or heaviness.
Lymphatic massage is a gentle, specialized type of massage designed to stimulate the flow of lymph fluid through your body. It uses light, rhythmic stretching and sweeping movements to direct excess fluid toward functioning lymph nodes, reducing swelling, and supporting immune function. The Process: A therapist uses light, circular, and pumping motions to gently stretch the skin in the direction of lymph flow. The Goal: It encourages the natural drainage of "lymph"—a clear fluid containing white blood cells and waste products—away from congested or swollen tissues and back toward the heart. Excellent for acute injuries where traditional massage therapy might not be indicated, treatment of lymph edema and post surgical applications.
