Matt Dyer is a Professional Counsellor, Registered Therapeutic Counsellor candidate (RTCc), and
Certified Life Coach.
Matt’s approach is relational, client-centred, and collaborative. He has experience working with people
from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds. He works from an existentialist perspective,
placing a great deal of importance on exploring an individual’s core sense of self, the roles people take
on, and the relationships they carry with those roles.
Matt is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and
Life Coaching. He is trauma-informed and understands the subtle and not-so-subtle forms that this
word can take on—being aware of and respectful toward the lasting impact that past experiences can
have on present-day wellbeing. In counselling, he draws from a wide range of approaches and
modalities, aiming to best support each client’s unique needs while meeting them where they are at in
the present.
Outside of counselling, Matt is an artist, a single father to teenagers, a lifelong surfer, and a true
appreciator of nature and the human spirit.
