Matt’s journey into manual therapy was shaped by personal experience with chronic pain and
years spent exploring human movement through strength training. These experiences sparked
a deep interest in understanding pain, dysfunction, and the factors that influence recovery. This
path led him to pursue a career helping others restore function, confidence, and ease of
movement.
Philosophy:
Matt’s clinical approach is centered around movement, merging client engagement with hands-
on therapy to address pain, improve function, and build confidence. His sessions are performed
fully clothed and incorporate active movement, allowing assessment and treatment to be
integrated throughout the session. Matt uses detailed assessment and clinical reasoning to
continually reassess and adapt treatment as a client’s presentation changes, ensuring care
remains targeted to their individual needs and goals.
Background:
Matt is a Registered Massage Therapist and graduated with honours from Algonquin College’s
Massage Therapy program. Before transitioning into massage therapy, he spent 10 years
working in engineering and project management, developing strong skills in analysis, problem-
solving, and understanding complex systems.
Additional training:
RAPID NeuroFascial Reset (Upper Body, Lower Body, Core) — movement based approach
focused on assessment, active treatment63, and client participation.
Trauma-Informed Practice — training focused on creating a supportive, empowering
environment where clients feel comfortable and confident accessing care.
