Melissa is a comprehensively trained Pilates instructor and a Franklin Method® Educator with a strong foundation in science and education. Her approach is rooted in curiosity, always seeking to understand how the body moves and functions. A significant back injury postpartum led her to Pilates—not just as a tool for recovery but as a way to rethink how she moved, cared for, and listened to her body. This sparked a lifelong pursuit of learning, blending movement principles with practical application.
Melissa takes a student-centered approach, recognizing that each individual brings a unique movement history and learning style. She helps clients develop greater ease, efficiency, and confidence in their movement through exploration and education.
Her goal is to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to move well—whether for rehabilitation, performance, or everyday function. By fostering curiosity and encouraging self-discovery, she helps clients build strength, resilience, and a deeper connection to their bodies.
Outside the studio, Melissa loves spending time with her partner and two amazing kiddos. She finds joy in live theatre, music, and meaningful conversations—whether at a concert, on a walk-and-talk, or over a great cup of coffee. Whenever she can, she escapes to the shores of Lake Huron, where she’s happiest dividing her time between splashing in the water and unwinding with a good book.

At each follow-up session we will review your care plan and treatment response. This is also a great opportunity to bring up any new symptoms, challenges, or concerns to ensure that your journey through the various stages of menopause is as comfortable as possible. Available in clinic and by virtual video call.
If diagnostic tests were ordered at the Initial consult, this is when we will review your results and create your care plan. If treatments were initiated at your Initial Consult, this is when we will do our first review for adverse effects, tolerance, and early benefits. Available in clinic and by virtual video call.
In this first appointment, we will meet together to discuss your menopause related symptoms and concerns. A targeted and more detailed health history will be collected to understand you as an individual and your priorities of treatment. Depending on the nature of your concerns, a physical and pelvic exam may also be performed at this session (please do come prepared for this possibility). Additional diagnostic tests and referrals may also be ordered depending on your symptoms and concerns, however many symptoms and treatments do not require diagnostic tests or referrals. Available in clinic only.
This virtual appointment, by video or phone call only, is best suited for established care plans that focus on medication renewals and do not have any new concerns to assess. If there are new concerns to discuss, patients are encouraged to book a full follow up session to ensure there is adequate time to discuss their concerns.
Not sure where to start? Book a complimentary 10–15 minute Discovery Call to discuss your goals, ask questions, and find the Pilates service that's right for you. If you're recovering from an injury or hoping to use your extended health benefits, we can also discuss whether a supervised Physio Pilates program may be appropriate.
Pilates Group Classes are ideal for anyone looking for small, supportive classes with individualized instruction. Exercises are adapted to the needs and goals of the participants, helping you move better, build strength, and improve confidence in movement. Pilates Private Sessions provide individualized instruction in a supportive one-on-one setting. Each session is tailored to your goals, helping you move better, build strength, improve mobility, and gain confidence in movement.
