Michael graduated from Saint Francis Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics Degree in 2010 and then went on to complete his Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy Degree at Dalhousie University in 2012. He has been working in Private Practice with Veitch Physiotherapy and Wellness Centre since completing his Physiotherapy degree.
During his time at Saint Francis Xavier University, Michael worked with the varsity athletics department where he gained valuable experience working with a wide range of athletes competing in elite level sports. He quickly learned the importance of developing a strong rapport with each individual while helping them to achieve their goals
His professional development experience includes training in Acupuncture, Functional Dry Needling, Mulligan Concepts, McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) Part A, Running Injury Management, Advanced Assessment and Treatment of Hip Injuries and advanced Orthopaedic training through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s Orthopaedic Division. Michael is currently working towards his Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy.
Michael has a special interest in manual therapy, exercise prescription, movement impairment and all aspects of health and fitness. His caseload ranges from individuals involved in motor vehicle accidents or workplace injuries to individuals suffering from acute or chronic injuries, including sports injuries.
Michael’s treatment involves a hands on approach with a significant emphasis on education and exercise prescription, allowing each patient to take an active role in their rehabilitation
