Midori is a sport and orthopedic physiotherapist with over 10 years of clinical experience. She completed her Master of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto in 2015 and enjoys treating all areas of the body, with special interest in lower-body injuries, neck pain, and lumbar spine rehabilitation. She works with clients of all ages and has a strong passion for optimizing performance in triathletes, runners, cyclists, racquet-sport athletes, and soccer players.
With a background in ergonomics and kinesiology from SFU and advanced post-graduate training in manual therapy (FCAMPT), intramuscular dry needling, bike fitting, running-related coursework, and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS A and S&C 2), Midori takes a detailed, whole-body approach to understanding how you move. She has supported a wide range of community and sport organizations, including Ballet BC, Red Truck Racing, HUB Cycling and she is also a Clinical Instructor with the Department of Physiotherapy at UBC.
Her goal is to provide clear guidance and individualized treatment plans that help you prevent injury, recover efficiently, and reach your health and performance goals. Midori also offers custom bike fits and running assessments.
Born and raised in Maple Ridge, Midori played competitive soccer and badminton, and now lives in Coquitlam, where she enjoys triathlon training, hiking, and raising her two young children. Her own experience recovering from a lumbar disc injury, hip labral tear, ankle sprains, groin strains, and rotator-cuff injuries helps her bring a practical, empathetic understanding of the rehab process to her clinical work.

Assessment designed to improve running economy, enhance performance, and reduce the risk of injury. These assessments are ideal for endurance runners; we also provide separate assessments tailored specifically for sprinters. Includes detailed history, an orthopaedic assessment of strength, stability and mobility to evaluate any movement imbalances, and treadmill running gait analysis. Based on all findings, your physiotherapist will provide a clear summary of your assessment, individualized training recommendations, targeted exercises to address imbalances or inefficiencies, and any relevant running cues to help improve your technique.
