Mike graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT) in 1999. He has a focused practice in injury rehab for athletics and a growing interest in tactical strength and fitness(TSAC) for all of his first responders as well as a continued growth in knowledge for the associated mental health issues. He is currently enrolled in SFU’s **“Trauma Prevention & Recovery for First Responders”** online course. While this may take a bit of time to complete, he is very much excited to employ his learning’s into his practice with all of his first responders.
Mike has previously earned an NSCA Personal Trainers Certification in (2008) and has three (3) certifications in athletic training from Twist Conditioning: Sports Movement, Conditioning and Strength (level 2).
Mike has 22+ years experience as a healthcare professional. Mike's treatment approach includes Soft Tissue Release, Arthrokinetic Therapy, Neuromuscular Techniques, and Pain Management.
He incorporates athletic conditioning techniques to speed recovery, assist in pain mitigation, and enhance athletic performance. He is familiar with both chronic and acute injuries and conditions and provides individualized assessments & solutions for a wide variety of health issues related to the workplace, athletics, and lifestyle.
Recent courses include Vicarious Trauma - Strategies for Resilience from CTRI, Understanding the Complexities of Concussions for massage therapy, Fortius Centre's Assessment Treatment & Rehabilitation; Orthopaedic Assessment of the Lumbar Vertebrae, Pelvis, and Hip; and Orthopaedic Assessment of the Cervical Spine & Shoulder.
Mike is a fan of auto racing, strength training, tactical training and first aid, spending quality time with his family, and practical jokes. When he isn't busy in the clinic, Mike can be found spending time with his grandkids, in the gym or at the range.
