Miya is a registered Physiotherapist who is passionate about helping people move with confidence,
strength, and purpose. She earned her Bachelor of Science from SFU and Masters of Physical Therapy
from UBC. With a background in gymnastics and some experience with most sports, she can connect
with clients of all activity levels and understand the physical and mental demands of movement and
activity. Having grown up in Langley, Miya has a strong connection to the local community.
Miya has her Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy level 1 certification and has supported
clients with a variety of presentations including: sports injuries, chronic pain, post-operative rehabilitation
(including joint replacements), workplace injuries, neurological conditions, joint pain/strains and motor
vehicle accidents. She values a holistic treatment approach and tailors each treatment plan to the
individual’s goals, lifestyle and stage of recovery.
With a function-focused approach, treatment plans emphasize restoring optimal movement, strength, and
confidence. Miya also incorporates a variety of techniques, including manual therapy, joint mobilizations,
and mobility work to support pain relief and movement quality. She enjoys working with those who are
newer to exercise as well as active individuals, striving to help clients feel safe and supported as they
build their capacity.
Outside of the clinic, you can find Miya at the gym, going to pilates or yoga, and (trying) to play tennis.
Miya is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where clients feel heard, motivated,
and confident in their care.
