Cupping involves the application of glass cups to specific areas of the body; this is achieved by holding a small flame inside the cup to create a vacuum. This causes the skin to be sucked up into the cup, encouraging the flow of Qi and blood and clearing local stagnation. Cupping therapy stimulates the sensory nerves in the skin, which also helps regulate the nervous system and support digestion. It is a particularly useful therapy for the treatment of muscular aches and pains such as backache, frozen shoulder, and so on. It is also useful when one is attempting to ward off a cold.

New to acupuncture? No worries, I'll explain everything. What to expect: We'll chat about your main concerns, then I'll do a quick assessment before placing thin needles in specific points. You'll rest for about 30 minutes. Depending on your needs, I may also add cupping, moxa, electro-acupuncture, or guasha. What to wear: Loose, comfortable clothing that can be rolled up past your elbows and knees.
