**Melissa Madsen, RMT** is a highly skilled and experienced Registered Massage Therapist dedicated to providing top-quality care to her clients. She graduated as class valedictorian from the Canadian Therapeutic College of Massage Therapy in Burlington, Ontario, in 2004 and began her career as Melissa TsuLin Thompson, RMT.
From 2004–2005, Melissa worked at luxury resorts in Beaver Creek and Vail, Colorado, gaining valuable spa experience that she later integrated into her practice. From 2005–2012, she provided therapeutic massage in the Strathcona community at a chiropractic office. In 2012, she opened her home studio, and through networking and growth, rebranded her business as East Mountain Massage to expand her reach and services.
Melissa is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and is an active member of the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario (RMTAO). She is also licensed in Bioflex Laser Therapy and is a certified Nordixx Pole Walking instructor.
Her extensive portfolio includes:
• Hot Stone Massage
• Cupping Massage
• Bamboo Massage
• Deep Tissue Massage
• Pregnancy Massage
• Hot Oil Scalp Massage
• Low-Level Light Therapy (Bioflex Laser)
• Nordixx Pole Walking Instruction
Melissa has developed a strong reputation for therapeutic and deep tissue work. With over 20 years of hands-on experience, she has cultivated a passion for healing and helping clients through both relaxation and focused therapeutic care. Her specialty lies in heavy pressure and deep tissue massage — although she jokingly admits there was one memorable client, a former MMA fighter, who challenged even her skills. “He beat me fair and square… but I still want a rematch!”
Melissa believes that experience never means you stop learning. Guided by her personal motto, “Do Better,” she is constantly upgrading her education and refining her treatment approaches. Her next professional adventure is training through the Abdominal Therapy Collective, expanding into Mayan-inspired abdominal therapy techniques to further support digestive health, pelvic care, and whole-body wellness.
At the core of Melissa’s practice is a commitment to continuous growth, compassionate care, and helping every client move, feel, and heal better.
