Sonya also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. Sonya is a current member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association (OOA), a branch of OSTCAN.
Sonya’s passion for the human body, biomechanics, and healing began at a young age through competitive dance. This early exposure to movement, injury, and recovery sparked her interest in understanding how the body functions as an integrated whole and laid the foundation for her career in osteopathy.

Osteopathy is a holistic, hands-on form of manual therapy that treats the body as a connected whole. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, it aims to identify and address the underlying cause of discomfort. It is based on the principle that the body’s structure—bones, muscles, nerves, joints, fascia, and organs—directly influences its function. When movement or alignment is restricted, it can impact overall health and well-being. With a deep understanding of anatomy, Osteopathic Manual Practitioners use gentle, precise techniques to restore balance, improve mobility and circulation, and support the body’s natural ability to heal and self-regulate.
