Since earning her Masters in Occupational therapy almost 20 years ago, Wendy has spent much of her time working in the field of mental health.
Wendy has a passion for helping people get back to doing the occupations they need and enjoy doing. Wendy works with adults who are struggling with mental health challenges, chronic pain and ADHD.
When not at work, Wendy spends her time walking in the woods, gardening and being outside with her family.

You’ve been referred to occupational therapy, and now you ask yourself.. what is Occupational Therapy? Life is made up of meaningful everyday activities or occupations such as walking the dog, gardening, preparing a meal, painting, doing the laundry and playing games. Occupations are part of life; they describe who we are and how we feel about ourselves. Occupations help bring meaning to life. When we can’t participate in daily occupations, due to injury, illness, disabilities or social and environmental circumstances, occupational therapists help find solutions to address the meaningful everyday activities of life. Occupational therapy also helps prevent disability or illness and enhances the way we participate in our communities and lives. Occupational therapy helps us engage in the occupation of living. When your world has been made small by pain, mental health, physical limitations an occupational therapist can help you broaden your life to include the things you want and need to do. Examples of things we might do together • Assess skills, interests, values, and strengths and identify the occupations and activities that are important for you to maintain or return to • Help to plan, initiate and track short and long term goals that enable participation in those activities. • Teach practical ways to cope with the effects of pain or mental illness • Help replace unhealthy activities, such as substance abuse, with healthy, meaningful activities. • Help structure lives and organize daily activities so that clients can balance everything they want, need or are expected to do.
