Denise is a Registered Acupuncturist with more than 20 years of experience in holistic wellness. Her path into holistic medicine was inspired by her personal journey of navigating, managing, and healing from pain, which informs her deeply compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care. She is a graduate of the Autumn Institute of Health, where she completed three years of training in Traditional Chinese Medicine and East Asian Medicine, and she is a current member of the Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Nova Scotia.
In addition to her acupuncture practice, Denise is a certified reflexologist and a member of the Reflexology Association of Canada.
She is deeply committed to providing care that is safe, patient-focused, and effective. She believes that the best healing outcomes are achieved through collaboration. Denise enjoys working alongside doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to thoughtfully integrate traditional and modern approaches to care.
Denise’s practice focuses on relieving pain while supporting long-term emotional and physical well-being. She is currently mentoring with Kenton Sefcik, studying Deep Tissue Lymphatic Acupuncture (DTLA), a specialized technique developed by Haruo Matsumoto and brought to Canada by Alexander Audette. This approach supports the body’s natural anti-inflammatory processes, gently warms and softens tissues, and promotes a calming, restorative effect. Denise treats a wide range of concerns, including chronic pain, women’s health, digestive issues, mental health and stress related conditions, respiratory disorders and sleep disturbances.
Known for her gentle treatment style, Denise creates a calm, grounding environment where clients feel truly heard, supported, and empowered. Her goal is to support each person in achieving meaningful growth, strengthening resilience and restoring a balanced sense of well-being in daily life.
