Melissa (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist with over twelve years of experience in counselling. Prior to working with Lavandula, Melissa worked in both private practice and the public sector, counselling children and their families with a variety of complex needs. Melissa has a Masters degree in Educational Counselling from the University of Ottawa, and has training and experience providing cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
Melissa’s therapeutic focus is in perinatal mental health, infertility, and pregnancy loss. She has completed training in mood disorders in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International (PSI). Melissa’s passion in this area stems from her personal experience, having dealt with a lifetime of endometriosis as well as years of unexplained infertility. She and her partner have journeyed through years of loss and success amidst fertility treatments including IUI, IVF, and other procedures.
Outside of the clinic Melissa cherishes her time with family, including her husband and three young kids. She enjoys kayaking, gardening, and cycling.

This call is meant to find your initial “goal” or focus for the sessions, its a time for you to ask questions and it allows us time to see how we connect.
