AjouterVera opened the Healing Waters clinic on Salt Spring Island in 2023. She offers acupuncture, ancillary techniques, prenatal education, as well as facial and body acusculpting.
In 1999 Vera graduated from the Integrated Midwifery Program at the University Hospital in Neukölln, Berlin. She has over two decades of experience in Midwifery. Vera’s areas of specialty are women’s health, women’s difficulties (menstruation, hormones, stress), pregnancy & pregnancy preparation, prenatal consultation, birth preparation, optimal fetal positioning, labour induction, postpartum recovery, lactation support, carrying instruction, and coaching for attachment parenting. She also teaches the philosophies of Emmi Pikler for encouraging the development of happy independent non-stressful babies.
In 2021 Vera graduated from the Pacific Rim College with the Diploma of Acupuncture and became a certified Registered Acupuncturist in October of 2022.

Releasing fascial restrictions prior to the acupuncture session activates the Qi, Blood and Lymphatic circulation.
Releasing of fascial restrictions to activate the Qi, Blood and Lymphatic circulation enhances the effect of acupuncture. Cupping helps to clear away toxins through the fascial layers and skin.
Using Tongue, Pulse and Channel Palpation diagnostics, along with general questioning and assessment, we will gather a picture of your needs and use Acupuncture needling to move Qi and support the balance of your system. Acupuncture treatments include the optional use of Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities Tui Na massage, Acupressure, Moxibustion, and Cupping. (For needle-free acupuncture, see TCM bodywork).
90 Minute Acupuncture treatment.
Delivered over five weeks, twice a week, Cosmetic Mei Zen Acupuncture uses Traditional Chinese Medicine points on the body and face in order to uplift, tighten and brighten the complexion and bring the entire body into optimum balance. Since Mei Zen uses traditional acupuncture points, this will heal clients from the inside out. Using very fine needles, Mei Zen invigorates the skin by activating fibroblasts of collagen and elastin, which naturally beautifies and fortifies the face. Being a holistic medicine, Mei Zen helps optimize not only the health of the skin but also the client's whole being. This helps naturally reduce wrinkles and will increase the face's innate shine. For best results, Mei Zen acupuncture is delivered over a series of 10 sessions over five weeks. Clients can also pay as you go ($160 per treatment).

Fire Cupping session with optional use of Tui Na massage and Acupressure to release tension. Fire Cupping is like a reverse massage, using negative pressure to release fascial adhesions and restrictions, helping in muscle recovery and body pain. Cupping also stimulates the immune system and helps to release toxins from the body. Expect round, dark cupping temporary "tattoos" - bruises created by the cupping pressure that often occur as a result of the therapy for about a week afterwards.
