Nayla is a University of Manitoba graduate with a Master’s of Physical Therapy (2016) and a Bachelor of Science. Growing up on a farm in the Swan River Valley, she played lots of different sports including volleyball, basketball, badminton, figure skating, snowboarding and softball.
Nayla is certified to practice acupuncture and has completed Level 1 and 2 (lower) of the Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy exams. In her practice, she combines manual/hands-on techniques, exercise prescription, acupuncture and education to treat her patients. She enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities with a goal-orientated approach.
Nayla has taken advanced training in the area of vestibular rehabilitation. Vestibular conditions include benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), labyrinthitis and vestibular neuritis. Depending on the diagnosis, vestibular rehab may consist of balance training, gaze stability training and canalith repositioning maneuvers.
Nayla stays active by running, skating, weight-training and chasing her kids around!

A Vestibular Physiotherapy Assessment includes the assessing of balance, gait, oculomotor function (eye movements), motion sensitivity, and positional tests. Based off the findings, the physiotherapist will work with you to develop a specific rehab program that may include: Canalith repositioning techniques, gaze stabilization, adaptation/habituation exercises, and balance training. Driving is not recommended, please arrange for transportation to and from your appointment as you may experience dizziness before or after your assessment.
