I graduated in 2020 with my Masters of Physical Therapy and PhD in Physical Therapy. I have clinical interests in working with women in prenatal and postnatal care and both men and women experiencing pelvic pain conditions, urinary incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse. My goal is to *empower* my clients and to make treatments *accessible* by considering all of the unique things that make each person she sees unique.
I also hold a Master’s of Science degree in Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience and an honours Bachelor degree in Psychology. I have >100 hours of additional post-graduate training in Technologies to Support Pelvic Health, Labour and Delivery, Caesarean Birth, Pelvic Girdle Pain, The Physical Therapy Approach to Male and Female Urinary Incontinence, The Physical Therapy Approach to Male and Female Pelvic Pain, Mens Pelvic Health and Recovery from Prostatectomy.
I am also the National Physiotherapy Manager at UROSPOT where I set a strategic direction and lead physiotherapists in cluster-wide initiatives to enhance clinical innovation and evidence-based practice. I also work as Research Scientist at Western University. My research examines cognitive abilities in females living with chronic pelvic pain, the role of nurses in Ontario as members of interdisciplinary care teams that contribute to rehabilitation, and the use of physical exercise to prevent and/or delay cognitive decline in older adults. Nicole has [published](https://scholar.google.ca/citations?hl=en&pli=1&user=ODcj4WMAAAAJ) her research work internationally.

If this is your first visit, welcome! This session is for you if you do not have a pelvic health concern and you're seeking physiotherapy. Please note that while I am trained to provide orthopaedic physiotherapy and do so regularly, my practice is focused on pelvic health concerns so I may refer you elsewhere if your problem area is not within my expertise. My training has particularly focused on chronic pain and musculoskeletal issues from the shoulders down (I.e., I do not regularly treat the cervical spine, shoulders, elbows and hands). This session is all about getting to know you, your story, your goals, and what's bringing you in. We'll go through a detailed history, movement assessment, and hands-on evaluation. You'll also receive treatment during this session, like hands-on therapy, exercise prescription and education tailored to your goals. We'll collaborate on a care plan that feels clear, supportive and aligned with your needs. Please note that the fee for this appointment will be increasing to $170.00 as of January 1, 2026.

We'll collaborate on a care plan that feels clear, supportive and aligned with your needs. Sometimes this includes education and training around preparation for labour and delivery through movement and exercise, "push" practice, addressing pelvic floor muscle dysfunction in pregnancy (e.g., pain, leakage), learning how to reduce the risk of severe tearing during delivery and after your baby is born. If you’re experiencing/ start experiencing any of the following I recommend you see a pelvic health physiotherapist ASAP: any urinary leakage (with a cough, sneeze, laugh, run, jump, or even just associated with an intense urge to pee), and fecal leakage or constipation, any pain with intercourse, arousal or orgasm, any moderate-severe pain in the low back, hips, tailbone, pubic bone. This can all be signs that the pelvic floor isn’t functioning as well as it could and it’s best to address this sooner rather than later to ensure the problem doesn’t worsen as your pregnancy progresses. If you’re not experiencing any issues through your pregnancy, I usually recommend people coming in at approximately 28, 32 and 38 weeks for 75-min sessions. At 28 weeks we can assess your body and how it’s adapting to pregnancy, including your bladder, bowel and sexual function, and discuss your goals and what we can do from a physiotherapy perspective to help you achieve them. We might also opt to assess your pelvic floor muscles via internal vaginal examination (this is always optional of course) to ensure your muscles are functioning well and that you can connect with them (contract them, and relax them as needed - which is what you need to do in labour!). Around 32 weeks we begin birth preparation, including starting things you might be interested in like perineal mobilization to reduce your risk of experiencing severe tearing, and education on the pros and cons of labouring and/or delivering in different positions. Sometimes, we will also practice ‘pushing’ with a vaginal examination to ensure you are appropriately contracting/ relaxing your pelvic floor muscles. At 38 weeks I usually recommend the birth partner join us as well and we can “practice” positions and techniques you might want to use during your birth to help with pain management, but it’s not required that your partner join us (just helpful for them!). For this appointment, the 75-min ‘birth prep’ option in my online booking is required. Please note that the fee for this appointment will be increasing to $220.00 as of January 1, 2026 and the duration will be increasing to 90-min.
