AjouterNicole graduated from Western University with an Honours Specialization in Kinesiology and a Masters in Physical Therapy.
She brings her expertise in concussion, vestibular, and pelvic health therapy to the Heal team. She is a well-rounded practitioner who has worked in several outpatient clinics, including two in the Vancouver area. She has worked with children, athletes, and seniors for a multitude of orthopedic conditions, such as sport-related injuries and chronic muscle pain.

Additionally, she has experience working at the Michael G. DeGroote Clinic at McMaster University, where she educates the chronic pain population on pain science and nervous system desensitization.
As a clinician, her treatment style is person-specific and holistic. She understands that several factors can influence healing, such as diet and mental health. Her experience working in an interdisciplinary team, whether in a hospital setting or in a clinic, has given her the opportunity to collaborate with multiple team members to help treat patients.
In her free time, she enjoys playing hockey, soccer, and hiking with her dog Lily.

You'll receive education on pain science along with practical guidance to help you move safely and confidently while managing chronic pain. A physical examination will also be performed to assess your movement, strength, and sensitivity to pressure. This approach is particularly valuable for individuals who have not experienced relief through other treatment methods.

This assessment involves a detailed examination of vision reflexes, balance, and the neck following a head injury. Individuals who have sustained a head injury may be experiencing headaches, dizziness, fatigue, and brain fog.

The physical assessment may include assessment of your low back, SI joints, connective tissue in your abdomen, and a pelvic floor assessment. A pelvic floor assessment often involves an internal exam looking for trigger points in the pelvic floor, scar tissue, and assessing the strength of the muscles. To help ensure availability, we recommend booking both your initial assessment and your first follow-up visit (approximately one week later) at the same time.

A pelvic physiotherapy assessment for men is catered towards those who are experiencing chronic pelvic pain, urinary incontinence (i.e. post prostatectomy), erectile dysfunction, or changes in sensation in the pelvic area. Assessment will include a low back and lower extremity screening, and may or may not include an internal assessment of the pelvic floor muscles. Often pelvic floor dysfunction in men can be treated through external therapy of the hip and low back. To help ensure availability, we recommend booking both your initial assessment and your first follow-up visit (approximately one week later) at the same time.

This appointment is for any patient whose last appointment was over 3 months ago. This reassessment will ensure your treatment plan is accurate and up to date. This appointment is also appropriate if you have a new injury that requires more time to ensure a proper assessment and treatment.
