Nona Nazari is a Registered Acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner (herbalist), who received her doctorate in traditional Chinese medicine from the Tzu Chi International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Nona’s areas of special interest include treating patients with psychological conditions, such as anxiety and depression. In addition, she focuses on working with patients who have unexplained infertility, autoimmune disorders, pain syndromes (chronic and acute), addictions, and chemical dependency issues. In her treatments, Nona uses some of the classical healing methods of Chinese medicine, which include cupping and moxibustion (a type of classical heat therapy).
Nona’s healing philosophy is to address all aspects of her patients—physical, emotional, and spiritual. She believes that to heal one dimension, all of the others must also be brought into balance. She says,
"I believe that our bodies can heal themselves when they are provided with the right tools", and is committed to providing each patient with those tools.
Nona’s education and skills are augmented by a number of professional experiences. As part of her education, she studied in Taiwan, and has traveled around the world to study yoga with masters in the field. Nona has also worked with a mentor for several years, gaining knowledge and experience in treating patients with moxibustion. She has volunteered at a seasonal moxibustion series, which involves treating patients who have a variety of health conditions over twelve weekends each year.
Nona spends her time outside of the clinic looking after her toddler son, hiking, and practicing yoga. She’s also a fur mom to two dogs and is devoted to rescuing and fostering dogs that need a home.

Acupuncture provides physical and emotional support leading up to labour and birth. It can increase your sense of satisfaction with the birthing experience and enhance your overall well-being after birth. Required for first-time clients. This extended session allows for a comprehensive, holistic assessment of your energetic layers. Through this deep exploration, areas can be identified where your energy may be stagnant or blocked, helping to determine where to focus attention and efforts. The session is set to relaxing music, creating an atmosphere that encourages your body to release tension and shift out of fight-or-flight mode. This calm environment supports your body’s natural healing processes, allowing it to move toward a state of rest and repair. The longer session also provides the opportunity to gently introduce you to the Spinal Energetics practice and guide you through this new experience, helping you respond and adjust to the sensations that arise. This initial session is designed to be a foundational part of your healing journey, providing your nervous system with the space to relax and realign.
In this 45min follow up, you continue the work started in your introductory session, moving deeper into your healing journey. These sessions allow for you to address additional layers of energetic stagnancy and stored trauma, facilitating ongoing release and realignment in your body. Many clients experience relief from chronic pain and persistent physical conditions through repeated sessions, as this work helps to unravel underlying energetic blockages contributing to these issues.
This treatment includes an in-depth intake and acupuncture. There is an additional fee for any herbal medicine prescribed. It is advised to book at least a series of three follow-up appointments to ensure continuity of care (3 appointments in 3 weeks). A more detailed treatment plan will be discussed after the initial consultation.
