Oscar is an internationally trained physiotherapist from the Philippines, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Lorma Colleges in San Fernando City, La Union.
Fluent in both English and Tagalog, Oscar is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centred care in a welcoming and supportive environment. He values building strong relationships with his patients and believes that open communication and collaboration are essential to achieving meaningful rehabilitation goals.
Oscar has experience working in community-based rehabilitation, supporting individuals recovering from stroke, spinal cord injuries (SCI), musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, and post-operative hip surgeries. He takes an evidence-based, individualized approach to treatment, creating personalized care plans that help patients improve mobility, regain independence, and enhance their overall quality of life.
Before becoming a licensed physiotherapist in Canada, Oscar worked as a Physiotherapy Assistant in the Orthopedic Inpatient Unit at St. Paul's Hospital with Providence Health Care. Working alongside an interdisciplinary team gave him valuable experience supporting patients through their recovery and reinforced the importance of compassionate, collaborative care.
Oscar is also proud to be part of the Personalized Support and Stabilization team at Vancouver Coastal Health, where he continues to provide evidence-based care for individuals with complex health needs. He is dedicated to lifelong learning and is always looking for ways to provide the highest quality care to his patients.
Outside of work, Oscar enjoys exploring local trails, hiking, cycling, listening to music, and dancing. He believes in the benefits of staying active and brings that same positive energy and encouragement to every patient, helping them build confidence and achieve their personal goals.
