**Hello, My name’s Owen Parnell.**
I grew up in Victoria, and have experience of eastern healing arts since childhood. In my early 20’s, fresh out of art school, I enrolled in acupuncture college, as I wanted knowledge to apply to the rest of my life. Near the end of my studies, my daughter was born, and that gave me real motivation to forward my career in acupuncture. 7 years later I feel confident to meet what comes, and help a broad spectrum of people in reaching their health goals.
I view patient comfort and trust as essential to good treatment results, and modify my technique and communication to suit the unique physiology, temperament and circumstances of each patient.
My ultimate goal is to improve my patients quality of life as much as possible. I want you to feel liberated from your symptoms, pain, restricted movement, self imposed limitations, or whatever it is that ails you.
I employ the classical approaches of acupuncture, massage, cupping, guasha, conversation and counsel, lifestyle recommendations. I also use some tools not so common to acupuncturists, Laser therapy AKA PBMT (photobiomodulation therapy), and toksen (thai hammer massage).
Outside of my clinical work, I maintain a slow but steady visual art and martial arts practice. I feel honoured and privileged to be a helper on my patients healing path.

Laser acupuncture is an alternative to traditional needle acupuncture. This non-invasive method uses laser light to stimulate the same points used in traditional acupuncture to activate their functions and affect deep tissue layers. Laser acupuncture is completely painless, and sterile and while sensitive patients may feel the sensation of energy shifting in their body, the majority feel next nothing at all. It's especially applicable to infants/children, elders and needle-phobic patients. If you have ever wanted to benefit from Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment for a health condition but are hesitant due to the use of needles, laser acupuncture is a great option!
