Pam Garner is an art therapist, artist, and facilitator, who believes in the power of creativity in the healing process. Pam has a love of learning with a special interest in writing, pottery and storytelling. She believes that when we look at our art with curiosity, it can surprise and deepen us. Pam has a strengths-based client centered approach that is trauma-informed. She works with children, youth, individual adults and parent/child dyads.

Pam is a graduate of the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute where she received her post-baccalaureate diploma in art therapy. Her education degree was completed at Simon Fraser University.

• In May, 2022 she received the Lani Gerity-Granville Memorial Award for immense creativity and diversity in the use of materials and media.

• In 2023 she published: Garner, P. (2023). “I need a bigger sandbox”: Exploring story landscapes in art therapy with seniors [Diploma thesis, Kutenai Art Therapy Institution].

• She is a professional member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association (CATA).

Pam sees herself and others as relational beings. She believes in our connection to things outside of ourselves, specifically nature, animals, and human community. We do not heal alone but in relation to one another.
