Some of the stones are placed on the body, while others are used for the massage, using slow, long, warm strokes for this very warming, relaxing therapy. Your initial appointment will include: a health history intake, discussion about abdominal health and treatment goals, massage for your abdomen, back, pelvis & feet. I will teach you a self care abdominal massage and other appropriate hydrotherapy and self care practices. The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy (ATMAT) is a non-invasive external massage. In a warm and relaxed environment, your skin from head to toe will be treated to a gentle exfoliation with a handmade essential oil infused sea salt scrub. Then the warm water soaked whole seaweed fronds are massaged and applied to the skin. Next, you are gently cocooned in layers of wool blankets and heat. You will receive a seaweed face and neck massage, then left to rest in the wrap while your nervous system rests, digests and absorbs all that goodness! We finish with a short seaweed massage, leaving you nourished, relaxed and glowing! You will get to bring your seaweed home with you, each frond can be re-used several times in the bath, shower or as a daily facecloth.
