I offer counselling from an attachment perspective that is emotion focussed and somatically based. My education, research, and practice have specifically focused on understanding deeply and responding compassionately while supporting resilience in those who have experienced trauma and/or abuse and related issues such as addictions, adverse childhood experiences, anxiety, brain injury, depression, family conflict, MCFD involvement, mental health issues, Post Traumatic Stress Injury, and parenting concerns. I regard forming a warm, authentic relationship with you based on empathy and respect, as foundational to good counselling. This means that I will treat you with dignity and fully attend to hearing and understanding your experience and how you feel about it. As a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, I have met rigorous academic requirements, am committed to high professional standards of practice, and adhere to the BCACC code of ethical conduct.
