Priyanka brings an active, person-first approach to the team at Active Back to Health. Her interest in physiotherapy began in high school as a sports medicine team trainer, where she focused on athletic injury management and taping. Today, she emphasizes shared decision-making and client-centered care, ensuring that every treatment plan is clear, practical, and tailored to the patient’s specific goals.
Priyanka earned her Bachelor of Health and Physical Education from Mount Royal University before completing her Master’s in Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta. She has been practicing for three years and is committed to continuous clinical development. She holds Level 2 certification in Functional Dry Needling and is currently completing advanced training in concussion management, TMJ (jaw) disorders, and vestibular therapy.
Having called Calgary home for nearly 20 years after moving from Kenya, Priyanka is dedicated to serving her community. She provides an inclusive environment for care and can communicate with patients in Gujarati, Hindi, and Kiswahili when preferred. She aims to ensure every patient feels heard, comfortable, and confident in their recovery plan.
Outside of the clinic, Priyanka enjoys exploring Calgary’s food scene, hiking in the mountains, and traveling with her husband, Simon.
