Rachel completed her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2020 from the University of Alberta, and her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University in 2017. She has been practicing in Revelstoke since October of 2021, and loves the community that she gets to work with here.
Rachel has experience working with all types of populations including (but not limited to) individuals/athletes with chronic pain, high level recreationalists, professional athletes, adolescents in competitive and/or recreational sport, etc. She takes a special interest in the world of knee injuries/ligament reconstructions, and has additional education in this area. She is also certified in Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) needling from Foundations Health Education. Within the community, she is a physiotherapist for the Revelstoke Grizzlies hockey team, and teaches dance at The Studio Dance and Wellness. In her limited spare time, she is an avid skier, and tries really hard at a lot of other sports including running, mountain/gravel biking, and climbing.
Rachel appreciates the importance of a solid support system when dealing with the difficulties associated with pain/injuries, and strives to fulfill her role in that system for every person she works with. Having been through her fair share of sports related injuries, she is familiar with the difficulties and requirements for returning to the things you love. She is consistently working towards staying up to date on current knowledge in the field so that she can solve the puzzle in front of her as quickly and effectively as possible.
Regardless of your injury, you can bet that Rachel will be committed to your process and getting you back to your life, whatever that looks like for you.
