Rachel was born and raised in Calgary and completed a Bachelor of Science with a major in Mind Sciences at the University of Calgary. While completing her degree, she played on the University of Calgary Dinos volleyball team for five years, securing a Canada West Championship in 2018 and competing in three U Sports National Championships. After graduation, Rachel applied her expertise at a high-performance training center, excelling as a personal trainer and volleyball coach.
While being immersed in elite sports Rachel recognized the crucial role that injury prevention and recovery play in enhancing athletes' well-being and longevity. This motivated her to complete a Master's of Science in Physiotherapy at McMaster University with a focus in orthopedic injuries.
Rachel values a client-centered approach to physiotherapy, dedicating time during each client’s first appointment to collaboratively set goals and develop individualized treatment plans. Her approach combines education, exercise, motor control retraining, and manual therapy. Passionate about addressing the root cause of injuries, she develops specific exercise programs to prevent recurrence. Rachel enjoys working with individuals of all ages and activity levels. By understanding each client's unique needs, she builds connections that empower them to reach their physical potential and independently manage their injuries and overall health.
In her free time, Rachel can be found somewhere in the mountains—hiking, backpacking, skiing, or running. When in the city, she is often coaching or playing volleyball.
