**More About Ranjeet Jass**

_Tell us the story of why you became a physiotherapist?_

“Growing up, I always wanted to become a doctor,” says Ranjeet. “My father had rheumatoid arthritis, and I saw firsthand how physiotherapy played an important role in helping him manage his condition and improve his quality of life.

“Around the same time, someone suggested I explore physiotherapy as a career. I attended career counselling at my college, where I learned more about the profession and the opportunities it offered. The combination of science, hands-on treatment, and the ability to help people recover and see real progress really inspired me.

“Instead of pursuing medicine, I chose physiotherapy because it allowed me to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives, and I have been passionate about the profession ever since.

_What do you like about being a physiotherapist?_

“What I love most about being a physiotherapist is seeing hope return to a patient's face. Helping someone go from pain and dependence to confidence and independence is incredibly rewarding.”

_What do you like best about working at River East Physiotherapy?_

“I love being part of a team that truly puts patients first. Everyone works together to help patients feel comfortable, supported, and confident throughout their recovery.”

_What are some compliments you’ve received from patients?_

“Patients often tell me that I listen carefully, explain things in a simple way, and make them feel comfortable.

“They appreciate that I genuinely care about their progress and always encourage them.”

_What’s something you’re proud of?_

“I'm proud of building my physiotherapy career in Canada after years of hard work, and continuing to grow while helping people improve their lives.”

_What’s your favourite thing to do at work?_

“My favourite part of the day is celebrating even the smallest wins with my patients —whether it's taking their first pain-free steps, returning to work, or simply doing something they couldn't do before.”

_Are there any particular clinical challenges you’re passionate about solving?_

“I like treating musculoskeletal conditions because every patient is different. Solving movement problems and seeing patients regain their independence is what motivates me every day.”

_Is there a clinical area you’re particularly interested in?_

“I have a special interest in musculoskeletal rehabilitation because I enjoy helping people overcome pain and get back to doing what they love.

“I also enjoy working with post-operative patients and people living with neurological conditions. Every recovery is different, which keeps me learning and growing as a physiotherapist.”

_What do you like to do in your spare time?_

“Outside of work, I enjoy staying active by going to the gym, taking long walks, and exploring new trails.

“I also love discovering new restaurants and trying different cuisines with my friends—I'm always excited to find a hidden gem or taste something new.

“When I'm looking to relax, you'll usually find me reading a good book, watching documentaries, or painting once in a while.

“I also enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes. I believe having a healthy balance between work, hobbies, and time with loved ones helps me stay energized and bring my best to my patients.”

_Do you have any strong skills outside of therapy?_

“I'm a naturally curious person—I thrive on learning. I've always been the type of person who asks ‘why,’ ‘how,’ and ‘what if?’ because I enjoy understanding the bigger picture. Whether it's learning a new skill, watching a documentary, reading a book, or exploring a new culture through food, I'm always looking for opportunities to grow.

“I also love connecting with people, planning adventures with friends, and discovering new restaurants and cuisines. I think this curiosity helps me become a better problem-solver and allows me to bring fresh ideas and an open mind to both my personal life and my work as a physiotherapist.”

_What’s something that few people know about you?_

“Something that few people know about me is that I have a fear of heights. Growing up, it was a very strong phobia, but I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't let fear stop me from experiencing life.

“Since then, I've pushed myself to try activities like zip-lining, rappelling and paragliding. Every experience is scary at first, but it reminds me that some of the best moments in life happen when we step outside our comfort zone.”

_Someone who knows you well would describe you as…_

“My family and friends would describe me as caring, honest, and optimistic. They know me as someone who is always willing to help, listens without judging, and enjoys encouraging others.

“They would also say that I'm hardworking, resilient, and always ready to learn from new experiences.”

_What do you love about Winnipeg?_

“I'm still exploring everything Winnipeg has to offer, but one of my favourite things is how close it is to nature. In the summer, I love visiting the lakes and beaches—they're beautiful places to relax, unwind, and enjoy the scenery.

“In the winter, it's amazing to see the nearby lakes completely frozen, and activities like ice fishing make the season so much fun.”

“I also enjoy the greenery, the peaceful atmosphere, and the variety of restaurants around the city.

“Winnipeg has such a calm and welcoming vibe, and I know I still have many more places and experiences to discover.”
