Raphaële is a bilingual Registered Physiotherapist (FR/EN) who graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Master's in Physiotherapy and earned her Honours BSc in Kinesiology from McMaster University. While pursuing her studies, she danced semi-professionally in the provincial hip-hop scene and within the Toronto and Ottawa dance industries.
Dancing since age three, Raphaële has always prioritized movement for fun and health. Her own experiences with dance-related injuries ignited her passion for physiotherapy. Now, she specializes in treating artistic athletes, including dancers, figure skaters, gymnasts, cheerleaders, pole dancers, and silks artists. Her extensive experience also encompasses a variety of other sports, from professional and recreational powerlifters to soccer players, gym-goers, runners, and cyclists.
In her practice, Raphaële emphasizes movement-based rehabilitation tailored to each client's unique goals and needs. By focusing on empowering clients to enhance their body mechanics, she helps them return to the activities they love. Her approach incorporates manual therapy, targeted exercise, acupuncture, dry needling, and education to optimize recovery.
Currently, Raphaële holds her Level 1 AIM Orthopedic Division Certification and is an active member of the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science (IADMS). She has completed numerous courses and workshops, including Assessing and Treating Dancers and Artistic Athletes, as well as Pelvic Health Levels 1, 2, and 3, TMJ disorders, and clinical reasoning for upper and lower extremities. She also provides acupuncture and dry needling with Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS).
Outside of her professional life, you might find Raphaële engaged in functional strength training, discovering new restaurants and coffee shops, enjoying the outdoors, listening to new music, or dancing!
