Raye Organ Counselling and Care
BA (St Thomas University 2006), BSW (St Thomas University, 2014), MSW (Wilfrid Laurier University, 2021), RSW
Raye Organ (they/them) is a queer, nonbinary trans, neurodivergent human with disabilities. They are a registered social worker with over a decade of experience in the field of social work. Raye practices from a trauma-informed lens, specializing in the areas of gender identity, sexual orientation, neurodivergence, anxiety and depression.
Raye respectfully acknowledges that they are a white settler who lives and practices in the unceded and unsurrendered territories of the Wolastoqey, Mi'gmaw, and Peskotomuhkati peoples.
They have a Master of Social Work degree and have taken training in line with the WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) standards. This means that they are able to write letters of support for gender affirming surgery and hormone therapy referrals. Raye can support and affirm clients at any stage of their gender and sexuality journey, starting from age sixteen and beyond. Being seen and heard makes a world of difference when you're part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and Raye is here for you.
As a person who has experienced their own medical challenges, mental health concerns, late-diagnosed neurodivergence and trauma history, Raye knows that reaching out for support and care can be scary and vulnerable. They've been there, and they know that having someone in your corner who is non-judgemental, compassionate, and supportive can lead to beautiful growth and development, and that is what Raye hopes to do for their clients, at the client's pace. Raye meets you where you're at and holds space with you as you move forward in your journey.
Raye practices from a trauma-informed, sensory-aware, anti-oppressive lens, using strengths-based approaches. The therapeutic relationship is based on mutual trust and authenticity, and Raye's clinical training in a variety of therapeutic modalities allows them to counsel using the approach that aligns best with their client's needs, as we all experience the world differently. Raye engages in dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), unconditional positive regard, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy and brief therapy.
Raye would be thrilled to work with you!
